turning on/off embedded numpad

My son's R32 2658 J3U experienced HDD failure.  I replaced the drive and loaded WinXP.  I did not have the disks for the Thinkpad.  There is no Thinkpad software on the laptop.  The embedded numpad is "on", and I cannot turn it "off".  What is the keystroke sequence to enable/disable the embedded numpad?

Fn + NmLk should do the trick.

I tried that suggestion, and it did not work.  However, I accepted the guidance, and tried Fn + Shift + NmLk and it worked.  Thanks very much.
