BIOS update fails

I was performing a BIOS update on a SL 510 thru the Lenovo update utility. The AC adapter was connected to the laptop. The laptop froze during the update process and I was unable to get it to respond. This was after it had been running for at least 5 min and the fan was running at high. I was forced to shutdown and now the laptop will not POST. Is there any way to recover the BIOS or is this unit done?

Hi pkuefler,

Please remove all power (both battery and AC) overnight then connect AC only. If problem persist, please contact local lenovo for hardware check.

most likely you bricked the motherboard, which means the only remedy requires a replacement of the motherboard.
