I bought Lenovo SL500 , duo core 1.8Ghz, 2 gb ram, Windows Vista Business, and i installed XP from my own cd. Then i reinstalled Xp from the recovery(downgrade) cd's that came with the laptop. After that i tryed to restore my computer to it's original state but i can't do it. I still have the SERVICE partition ( didn't make the recovery cd's, only made the image on a dvd).
Can i still use the SERVICE partition for restore to Vista? And if yes, how?

With the DVD i can only go in Product Recovery, but then it asks me for the cd1, cd2.. wich unfortunately i don't have.
As an advice for others who wants to do the same....DON'T DO IT! Do not downgrade using the "recovery cd's" that comes with the laptop, because the setup will delete the Recovery partition, an you will not be able to restore to factory state (unless you made the recovery media discs ).
Thanks for the help, i was unsure what to do with that partition, but i think it just waste my HDD space.

If it's no longer the active partiton, then it is just wasted space.
What another fine example of the need to back up, and the failure of the program Lenovo included. I had to disable it on mine cause it would fail time it was run. I really wish they included the OS disc, backing up and restoring is SO easy with Vista, it's almost scary.
Anyway, sorry you have to go though with that, another reason to go Virtual PC though.
