I bought my laptop a year and a half ago and have taken great care of it since. Just recently I opened my notebook to see that the hinge connecting my screen, instead of rotating, completely broke off from the keyboard bezel. I am wondering how I might get this replaced and where I buy the parts for it? Has this happened to anyone before?

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Hinges can be bought from eBay and replaced with the help of HMM (supposing you have Sl400) :-
eBay: http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m570
HMM: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/migr-69
You can also watch service videos for your machine here:- http://www.lenovoservicetraining.com/ion/
Hinges on SL series are very delicate since this is just a budget thinkpad series.
Hope it helps.

Is it just the hinge that needs to be replaced or does the Keyboard bezel need it also? I've read some people cases where they replaced the hinge, but it almost looks like the whole thing ripped out of the bezel when I opened it up.
