I was wondering if it would be at all possible to upgrade the graphics card for my lenovo sl400. I have heard that I would not be able to do this. If possible do you have any suggestions for a graphics card that would be compatible (I'm open to all suggestions)

Did you even look at those links before posting?
One is a generic article about replacing graphic cards in notebooks, nothing specific to the SL400 at all, and even says it's not possible in most notebooks.
Second is a video of someone upgrading one on an Apple laptop, which has nothing at all do do with this question.
I'm inclined to agree with Lead_Org, as I've never seen a thinkpad that has upgradable graphics. You can swap out the systemboard for one with better graphics though. If yours has Intel graphics you can get an nVidia board for it, but it might be a better option to buy one with the nvidia graphics and sell your old one, could end up being cheaper and a lot less work.
