SATA 2 compatibility

I was planning to install SATA 3 SSD to my laptop (Adata s510). It is backwards compatible to SATA 2. According to Adata they have not tested the backward compatibility with SATA 1.

lspci shows: SATA controller: Intel Corporation ICH9M/M-E SATA AHCI Controller (rev 03)
I suppose the shipset should support SATA 2, but how is it with the BIOS. They could not help in Lenovo support. Does anyone have practical experience with SATA 2 HDD or SSD?

you should be good to go. i have an ocz agility 2 (which has a sata 2 interface) installed in my sl510 and its also the 2847 model.

Then I will open the box once it will arrive and I am not going  to return it without opening it. I will test it and inform in this thread about the achieved speed advantage.
