SL400 gets quite hot

Good evening all,

My SL400 of late has been running hotter than it should be... Usually, when running like I normally do, it peaks around 40oC (it can hit 70oC or so on a hot day or if I'm pushing the graphics on it hard), which I consider "normal" (not the graphics thing though, that seems odd because it has, in the past, played games fine), however of late it seems that it gets quite hot: it sits on a stand\cooling pad thing and is at the moment hovering around the 80oC mark, and will occasionally whizz up the fans quite loudly.

I'm not sure if a fan in it has died, has become gunked up with dust, or if it's something else entirely, so I guess my question is, is there anything I can do about it, or will I need to call Lenovo Support and get them to take a look at it? It is still in warranty.

Thanks :smileyhappy:

Re: SL400 gets quite hot

It could be your heatsink coming loose. You could send it in for warranty or you could take off the keyboard and tighten the heatsink screws yourself.
