SL500 HDMI port trouble

Can anyone tell me if I can hookup my SL500 to a Sony XBR hdtv via the hdmi cable to watch something from the net?  I've hooked up the two using their hdmi ports, but cannot get the tv to display any picture.  I have tried several times and assume that I'm doing something wrong.  Thoughts?

Did you check under Nvidia properties if you enabled the extra monitor? Do not forget to adjust the resolution as well. In my case the sl 300 has 1280+800, my Samsung Plasma has 1280X720

In mine, it works like charm. In fact, it even remember the settings.

Just in case, if your tv under size or aspect ratio has an option called JUST SCAN, it works wonders maintaining the original aspect ratio of  your computer monitor.

Hit Fn-F7 and set up a new scheme. First option should include the option to use the HDMI/digital output and then test the settings. This worked for me.
