Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I have an employee's SL510 laptop and it was running with no issues.
I used the Lenovo update utility and it said there was a BIOS update so I installed it. When the laptop came back up the battery light started blinking orange and would not charge. I rummaged around in the Lenovo software directory to Program Files\Lenovo\System Update\ Session and found the BIOS.BAK file with today's date, renamed it BIOS.ROM, and ran the WinPhlash utility to downgrade the BIOS back to the original and low and behold my battery issue has gone away.

Hey Hogwilde,
I was wondering if you could tell me what version of bios works and what version you were trying to update too. The newest version is 1.52/1.08 which can be found in the Drivers and software matrix for the SL410 and SL 510.
Best Regards,
Hiro

Sorry I probably should have noted it but I did not and I sent it back to the user after I updated it.
