SL510 microphone inacceptable

Hey Forum.

I posted this issue with my SL510 integrated microphone in the German Board as well, but the English one seems to be more active and so I hope for answers here.

Following:

The SL510 has, as you probably know, an integrated webcam and microphone.

Of course I dont expect such an intergrated microphone to deliver fantastic quality, but never the less, the person I skype with should understand what I say without extraordinary effort.

So when I speak there is always something like a cracking noise in the, if you will, foreground.

The interesting thing is, that the mic works superb when I deactivate the screen!

So not a software-problem?

I know I am not the only one one having these troubles.

Does anyone know a solution?

Can I let it repair by Lenovo using the warranty?

(Eventhough I dont feel comfortable with it...)

Have you got the driver provided by lenovo? It gives you a red tray icon - go there and click in the microphone tab. Enable noise suppression and acoustic echo cancellation. Personally I find the microphone brilliant for skype, I can talk at a comfortable volume at a comfortable distance. I suppose if you still have issues there might be something wrong with your laptop.

I had the same issue about a month ago, and it somehow suddenly gone and now everything is ok... maybe the updates do fix it?

I looked for a newer driver but didnt found anything.
If you know that, I would be happy about a link.

I also tried to play around in the settings.
It became better since then but is still not satisfying.

Have you tried to record your voice through another program and to see if the noise is still there?

Yes I tried with the Microsoft Soundrecorder.
The problem still exists.
Sorry for not mentioning that before...

I have 3 x SL510 and they have the same noise in the microphone.
and if I turn on the webcam, the noise becomes even more

it's defective?
