Re: Lenovo belvederes on order fulfillment

I really hope this is true, thank you so much for sharing this info!  It makes sense b/c the last guy I spoke with told me the screens were expected to arrive on the 17th and units to be completed within 24hrs of that. So let's be hopeful, but just in case...what Dell would you buy instead?  :smileywink:  Actually, I have been seeing very similarly configured (to what I ordered) T400s on Ebay for reasonable prices and free shipping.

Re: Lenovo belvederes on order fulfillment

Mark you’re the man. :smileyhappy:

Thanks for making the phone call and I admire your diligence for not blowing your stack. I’m not sure I could have done that well. So, thanks to your update I’ll keep my fingers crossed that I will see my long awaited T400 ship around the same time as yours. If I receive any news I’ll be sure to keep you guys posted.

Ok, now I vote that we have a “10 reasons not to order direct from Lenovo” convention and Mark can be our speaker. Oh yea, we will need to hold this in Hawaii. I’m going to need a vacation after this ordeal. :smileyhappy:

Thanks,

Mark

Re: Lenovo ship update &c.

Hiya Brian:

A colleague who also runs similar softwares (ESRI ArcMap, S-Plus, &c.) is extrememly pleased with her Dell XPS 1310. I looked into this machine and gave some serious consideration. Item for item the T400 still seemed to suit my needs to a greater degree. I also conduct field recordings of forest birds and run Cubase, WavePad, Audacity and Raven, and this T41 has been hourglassing me, hence the upgrade. The screen was key to allowing me to visualize sonograms and post-production work while in the field under sunny conditions. Extended battery life was key here also. Again, item for item, I felt the T400 would have fulfilled my needs on these regards. I am not looking for an expensive email machine, rather a reliable business-grade notebook that would accompany me through grad school. This T41 has provided excellent service for my girlfriend and I, with not one single BSOD in its entire life! That is what I am counting on with this T400.

Hang in there folks!

A hui hou,

Mark

Re: Lenovo belvederes on order fulfillment

Mark,

I called a couple times today and received two different answers.  On the first call, the representative spoke to some sources and stated that the LED screens should be received on the 25th and my order would likely ship out 4/1 or 4/2.  On the second call, I was told the exact same ship date as what is shown online (3/25).

Aloha Slugur:

Good to see you are still here.

Well, let's just go on the good news that I was able to share with you folks earlier. I sensed a sincere empathy from the gentleman I spoke with. This was something lacking in lower echelon CSR's I have spoken with thus far, who seem to be reading off cue cards.

A hui hou,

Mark

Hi, I'm new to the Lenovo world :smileyhappy:

And excuse my English, it's not very good.   I bought a T400 on 02/26/2009 and with WXGA+ LED screen.  And the expected shipping date is 03/27/2009.

Can I count on that, or you think that there will be delay on my order?

And thank you every one for the helpful previously comments.

Regards,

Re: New and improved T-series shipping thread

To Khaber:

I placed my order on Feb. 14, i.e., earlier than you, yet my expected ship date has been March 27 on the online order status, ever since Feb. 26.

I don't think there's any straight answer.   When I've called I've gotten answers like "March 16" "March 12" and "March 23."  If  I were you I would research the next best alternative and go with that rather than take on the headache.  Or, if you're in no rush then by all means continue waiting.

Re: New and improved T-series shipping thread

UPDATE: Just spoke with call center...the guy confirmed (for whatever that's worth) that the supplies (i.e. screens) have arrived and my T400 (ordered 2/11) should ship this coming week. Anybody got something from a more reliable source? I never received an explanatory or apologetic e-mail from Lenovo regarding the situation. Still would be nice.
