Re: New and improved T-series shipping thread

Having quite a hard time receiving my order. I commute to work 1 hour and leave home around 7:30am. My normal process for Signature required items is to call UPS and have them hold at local depot for pickup. But Lenovo has restricted the delivery to be Delivered to shipping location and only to recipient. So I called work and asked to come in late so I could wait for UPS driver to deliver package. UPS said latest delivery would be 10:30 am. 10:30 came and no package I had to leave for work. When I get to work I check tracking number and the made a delivery attempt at 11:30. I call and UPS said they can't hold at depot because of Lenovo, but they will attempt to make delivery by 8:30 am can I wait.

If Lenovo simply allowed a Hold for Pick up on the shipment I would have no problem. UPS Requires Photo ID and documentation that I live at Location (like a phone or electric bill) to pick up package.

Good Afternoon Nonny,
RE.
>I was trying to separate out messages about whether or not too many processes were running on his system from the person >who persisted in posting them in the shipping thread.

I was merely inviting Honvon to elaborate in the other thread, please do not construe it any other way.   I was not persisting in posting concerning this matter on the shipping thread.

Incidentally, there was content and comments regarding shipping to Canada in that message as well.  I believe the gist was to keep in touch with Lenovo Canada, also I think I mentioned something about the warranty's putting the order in conflict and resulting in it being stopped without the purchaser's knowledge.  Most definitely shipping related issues given the 'enhanced' shipping the Canadian's get to read about to the south of us.

Cheers,

Adrian

I was banned for not tolerating being bullied by some hillbilly mod or his carbon copy.

I called for the ban. I had also asked for all my posts to be removed, and they weren't.

Doggy,

Your receiving automated emails generated by the ordering system - thanks for raising the issue that they seem to be missing relevant data such as order number.

In the case where you are looking for information that isn't automatically provided, this requires the sales rep to manually generate the information  and email to you.   I'll work with a rep to try to satisfy the requests you have outlined.   Should we use the email that you used for your forum membership activation?

With regard to shipping and tracking numbers...

Fulfillment in Canada is a 2 step process.   After any front end order config or credit issues are cleared and an order is released to the factory and built, it ships to Canada in typically 5-7 days.   There is no tracking number available for this portion of the shipment.   Once the order lands in Canada and clears customs, it is reshipped to the end customer location.   At this point, tracking by UPS or other freight carrier is available.   Transit times inside of Canada vary 3-5 days typically.

Customers will receive a shipping confirmation email when the order leaves the factory.   I suggest allowing 7 days from that date before calling sales to inquire for the tracking number as they are unlikely to have it until then.

Thanks for joining the discussion and sharing your questions and experiences.

Best regards

This is what I don't get . . . On the previous shipping thread and also the one at forum.thinkpads.com (check out, for example, SouthPaw42 on page 56) it was evident our neighbours from the south are able to track their orders from the factory! Why is this priviledge extended to USA and not to Canadian customers?! I still think Lenovo Canada's shipping process is flawed . . .

Re: New and improved T-series shipping thread

Just to chime in,

I received an e-mail after I placed an order (I suppose automated) and the e-mail (confirmation of order) did include the order number as well as a very general product description.

What would be nice, however, is if the order confirmation e-mail included a listing of the specs (components) as ordered so as to avoid any confusion/consternation on the part of the customer.

Mark, thanks for the overview of the order/build/delivery process, clears things up.

So once the order goes in and credit cleared, the machine is built and arrives in Canada 5-7 business days following the initial order and confirmation - correct? Is that when Lenovo sends out an e-mail detailing the specs on the latop?

Re: New and improved T-series shipping thread

hm,
Mark said the credits were submitted on the 7th, and I contacted virtual sales (and yes they did charge me for warranty upgrade, even after I told them not to charge me until refunds are complete!!!!).
and they responded, it usually takes two weeks for it to get processed. I'm pretty bad with math, can some one tell me if it's been two weeks already??? because my calendar says it has been!!!!!

At this point, I trust mark for telling me the actual date that the refunds were submitted, but Mr. Virtual Sales (who ever this is)...., Isn't business conduct and business ethics course mandatory or have they never taken ethics in school??? What happened to the old listening and not lying to people thing??? seriously, where the heck is MY money....
