Black screen

 Hi All,

I have laptop Thinkpad T500. The problem is that  when I press the power button, the machine tries to start without a single line of text on LCD and then  stops. The only light that shows is the "Z" marked LED. The hard disk seems to be spinning but the fan does not. If I press the power button again, the hard disk stops.  Do I have a chance to repair this laptop?

curious to know, does this happen with the power adapter attach or does it happen even when using battery ?

can the unit load into windows or ?

which GPU do you ppl have on the T500?

It does not load the window 7. Yes it blan screen regardless of teh source of power.

My question is why teh battery is depeleting if teh system is not working?  I tried it several times. I fully charged the battery and in teh next morning the batttery is depeleted even f the screen is showing blank..

well the laptop is probably operating but not all of the components are operating.

Also, can you tell me whether you have the switchable graphics card?

Can you post the machine type of the form 1234-ABC from the underside of your laptop? Don't post your serial number.

Does the laptop get warm underneath if you leave it "on" for a while?
