Hi,
I would like to install a bluetooth daughter card on my T410 machine. According to T410 manual, there are two compatible parts, 60Y3199 and 60Y3213. Does anyone know the difference between those two? When I searched web, some dealer said 42T09069 is also compatible with T410. Is it true? I would appreciate much if somebody provide answers to my questions.

Hi and welcome to the forum!
42T09069 is not a valid part number, whereas 42T0906 appears to be and that too on online auction sites, according to all auction sites that I've visited; 42T0906 is a part number for turbo memory, not Bluetooth.
A for other two part numbers, I don't know the difference between them, however seeing how lenovo has various suppliers of keyboards, trackpads, batteries, fingerprint, LCDs and so forth; it wouldn't be wrong to assume that these two come from different brands, or perhaps since lenovo has so many systems, therefore they just like to have two part numbers.
Both are compatible with T410 and should work though.
Hope this helps.

In theory it should work, the part is of the same generation as the one found on T410. Many eBay sellers are also selling it for T410.
Wherever you're buying it from, verify that it comes with return policy, just in case if it turns out to be incompatible (doubt it would though), you can return it.

Hi there,
Thanks for starting this thread.
I would like to upgrade my T420 with bluetooth (my model 4177-QKU doesn't have bluetooth preinstalled).
My question is:
Does the machine (or better windows 7, I guess) automatically recognize the card, once the hardware, i.e. the daugther card, is installed? Or do I need a driver or some other tweak to make it work?
I would be grateful for any helpful suggestions.

Hi skua,
If you're using lenovo preload then all you need to do is to press Fn+F5 -> radio on the Bluetooth (once the card is installed inside the machine), if not then you'd need to install Power Mangement driver and Hotkey driver in order to use Fn+F5 and activate it.
Hope this helps.

Maliha,
Thanks a lot for the reply.
I thought about buying a bluetooth daughter card and install that myself. My manual states the FRU numbers 60Y3271 or 60Y3275 with BDC 3.0, but I couldn't find any for sale on the internet.
However, there are some available for the T410. Do you by chance know whether I could also use such a BDC 2.1 card? On the pics it looks the same, but it is stored in a different location on the T410 compared to the T420 (according to the manuals), so it presumable at least requires different cabeling.
Would you by chance also know whether the necessary cables are already installed? I actually may have a look myself tonight to check that.
Cheers,
Skua

Sorry I don't know whether BCD 2.1 will work in T420, but the FRUs you mentioned are available from IBM parts for $30-34.
