Re: Can depot repair fix T410 fan noise issue?

Mine works as intended. I did play around with the settings in TPFanControl but I decided I'm better off without it.

Re: Can depot repair fix T410 fan noise issue?

I too am having the same issue with the T410 fan staying on 95% of the time. I also used to own a T400 and loved the fact that it was cool and quiet almost all the time. As of writing this, my T410 is at a cool 36C and the fan is spinning at ~3600rpm. I have set the TPFC so many times with various smart modes and the can keep the machine cool and quiet. I do not understand why Lenovo did not implement the same methodology for keeping the laptop cool&quiet. This is very disappointing to say the least. It is such a shame, to have the T410 behave like the T400 we need to use a freeware.

Re: Can depot repair fix T410 fan noise issue?

Hello

Just another bump to say that I have exactly the same issues concerning the fan: 3600rpm no matter what. I tried every possibilities in the BIOS and the Power Manager, and the best I got is having my fan constantly pulsating which is even more irritating.

By installing and configuring TPFancontrol, I currently run at 40C (as reported by Speccy and other softwares, for some reason TPFC reported temps are off) on web browsing on fan speed 1 (2000rpm) which is hardly perceptible in a very quiet environment.

I still submitted a request on ESC+ as I find rather sad having to fix design issues on a $1500+ machine with a small freeware.

Re: Can depot repair fix T410 fan noise issue?

My machine still makes noise, but once I stopped paying attention to it, I forgot about it.  Every once in a while the room will be quiet and I'll hear it, but I have learned to just accept it.

Re: Can depot repair fix T410 fan noise issue?

For what it's worth, I have a T410s with the same issue, but it didn't do it straight from the factory. The issue started after one of the BIOS updates, but I don't remember which one and haven't taken the time to try to downgrade it. It's too bad, though--with an SSD this machine was almost completely silent even in a quiet room, until this happened.
