DVD drive powering on and off randomly

Question

My laptop's DVD drive is powering on and off randomly when on battery.

Answer

  1. Open Power Manager.
  2. Go to Global Power Settings
  3. Go to Battery Stretch: Settings

4. Uncheck "Disable optical drive"

5. Press "Ok" to save settings.

You may also try removing the DVD drive from the laptop and put it back in.

That would be the obvious place to find it, but after searching for the options I found this forum.

 

Let me just say, it doesn't work!

 

I have a T510i.

 

 

The option is not there! I linked to an image, that shows the above screendump but only with to Beep and USB options available.  I'm logged in as admin, runs win7prof, danish version.
