I have 11.4 gig available on my Hard drive.
Rescue and Recovery reports that there are backups of 42.7 on the HD and 35.4 on the USB drive.
Lenovo System Tools says I have a total Drive space of 128.1 GIG on my HD.
We know that 42.7 GIG is a Backup image on HD, and 11.4 is available on HD, and we are now using 35.4 GIG of space on the hard drive. Therefore 42.7 + 11.4 + 35.4 = 89.4. There is still a missing 38.6 GIG even if I could remove 42.7 GIG from the hard drive.
Does anyone know how I can remove the 42.7 GIG backup image from my hard drive and also recover another 38.6 Gig of space?
Rescue and Recovery / advanced tab will only let me remove 35.4 GIG on the external USB Drive.

You have not mentioned which OS you are using?Did you check out system restore and the space allocated to that?

the windows os is probably also making backups, in programs, accessories, system restore (you can disable it). You can delete the R&R backups in the start, program, thinkvantage, rescue and recovery, under advanced tab.

Sorry for ommiting important information.
I am using Windows Vista Business 64-Bit OS.
Lenovo System Tools Drive Space Manager shows that I have about 40 GIG as "other" and another 40 GIG as "unscanned".
Thanks for looking at my post.

I now have one backup (the oldest) listed on my hard drive and the newest listed on a USB backup drive. By going to backup and restore / advanced tab / delete backups I am only given the opportunity to delete a backup from my USB backup drive. I need to find the procedure that will allow me to delete backups from my hard drive.
Thanks for considering a response to me.
