IUltra slim hard drive adapter, T400 won't recognize it

I took my Fujutsu 100GB HD out of my Thinkpad X60S, and installed it in the ultra slim bay adapter for my T400, but the T400 will not recognize it. Of course I tried reboot, but still no luck. Does anyone have any ideas what I may be missing? THANKS

Sorry, a question for clarity;

what's the FRU or Option number of the bay adapter you are using?

The reason for asking is that the T40 has an PATA drive and I wasn't aware that the bay adapter for T4* systems, FRU 62P4553, fits in an T400.
