I just noticed something strange. I got 2 new T500 Thinkpads of the type indicated above. One of them doesnt have Intel AMT running and the according entry in BIOS is missing as well. Are there different types of the 2082-52G (both were shipped in the last two weeks), does anyone know?

I may be wrong here, but isn't an identical make/type number supposed to mean an exactly identical system?
Did you check to see if they had the same BIOS version?

Intressting, I have a T500 without any possible way of accessing AMT.
Neither Ctrl+P or BIOS works.
I do have a driver in XP for AMT, but no Control Panel stuff.
On the one that you have a BIOS entry for AMT:
- Where in the BIOS is the AMT entry.
- What BIOS version.
- Can you access AMT from Control Panel, where?
My T500 is
TYPE 2082-5AG S/N xxxxxxxxx
BIOS 1.20 (6FET50WW)
XP SP2 Swedish

to all, who experience similar probs, thats what I finally did. First of all, I called Lenovo service to figure out, if my board supports Intel AMT at all. After LS told me, it should, I sent it in for repair and got the mainboard changed. Now everything works fine.
But I had to wait 2 1/2 weeks, cause they had to order the spare part. Not what I expected from the famous Lenovo business service, especially when using an actual Thinkpad notebook.
