Is there an internal Blu-ray drive for T410, T510, W510?

I'm thinking about buying a ThinkPad with these specs: Win7 Pro 64-bit, 1080 resolution, Intel i5 2.5GHz, NVIDIA NVS 3100m w/512MB, 500GB 7200 rpm, standard DVD optical drive. I would like to replace the DVD drive with a Blu-Ray player/burner. Is there one specifically made for the T series and W510 (I know there's one on the lenovo site for a billion dollars, not happening)? I've found a few on eBay and amazon that DONT say would work with the T410 T510 or W510, here are two: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/ ... dition=new and this one: http://cgi.ebay.com:80/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 3268wt_920 Under the product discription it says they work with T400 and T500 and I've also found one that says works with R400 R500. Would those work with my T510 or W510? Any feedback is appreciated thanks!

Re: Is there an internal Blu-ray drive for T410, T510, W510?

have a read of this helpful post.

http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo-ibm/512964-ultrabay-blu-ray-burner-lenovo-com-3.html

this should save you a few dollars in getting your blue ray.

T510 and W510 uses the same drive format as the R400 and R500 (serial ultrabay enhanced 12.7 mm).

T410 uses the T400, T500, W500 drive (serial ultrabay slim 9.5 mm).

Re: Is there an internal Blu-ray drive for T410, T510, W510?

Oh thanks for the info. So I decided to buy the T510 therefore like you said I should look for one that works with the R400 R500? Could you check this one and see if it would work on my t510 here's the link:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170535428226&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_3110wt_920 I tried to ask the seller if it's compatible with my T510 but I haven't gotten a response from him so I hope I can figure this out. Is there software with it you think or would I have to purchase that as well? Also would there be instructions on how to set it up? Thanks again.

Re: Is there an internal Blu-ray drive for T410, T510, W510?

Given that this is the drive for the R400, R500 and W700, then it should be compatible with the T510 and W510, since they use the same slot format and same connection type.

Regarding softwares i am too sure, since i don't use blu-ray on computers.

Re: Is there an internal Blu-ray drive for T410, T510, W510?

How sure would you say you are for the R500, R400? Here's another one I found this one does it all, correct me if I'm wrong: plays/burns blu-rays & DVDs? However it says they are compatible with T400, T500, W500. Would those work on my T510? -- Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/LENOVO-IBM-ThinkPad-T400-T500-W500-Blu-ray-Disc-NEW_W0QQitemZ170542991523QQihZ00... Forgive me if I'm a bit annoying but I tried asking the seller but they haven't responded once. I wanted to point out that on the picture of the drive, the first one top left, on the bottom right corner it says Blu-Ray. On the second picture in the middle of the page, on the bottom right of the drive it says Multi DVD. Is he ripping people of or I'm wrong? Thanks for your time.

Re: Is there an internal Blu-ray drive for T410, T510, W510?

R400, R500, W700 uses serial ultrabay enhanced drive at 12.7 mm thick.

T400, T500, W500 uses serial ultrabay slim drive at 9.5 mm thick.

DVD-multi drive can't play blu-ray.

i use Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 in my T510. Keep in mind you need sufficient graphics to decode Bluray.

Wakka & Mike, I have a T510 and want to upgrade to an internal Bluray burner. Where did you guys get yours? Is it the one for the R400 and R500 like the one in the link I posted? I found 4 types on eBay one for 170 something. Also did it come with software? Thanks in advance.

[ Edited ]

OMG.. thanks Mike! the player software works great on my T410. it's now version 10. i've spent over a month trying to figure out how to use my BR drive with blu-rays through forum searches, etc... all the  DVD programs i downloaded never worked, except now! thanks again. this is so cool to watch on the laptop. thanks!!!!!

Hi There1 ... watching it on my 14.1 inch screen is cool, but watching it on a 15.6 would be even better. With the HDMI port on the laptop, i think this should act as a great BR portable player for any HD TV?
