I just got Lenovo T420 Last week with Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit OS. Unfortunately internal microphone array does not work.
I already tried installing latest Audio driver for Conexant 20672 SmartAudio HD from Lenovo Support Site. Driver 8.32.23.5 . Still no luck.
Refereed one of blog article where they mentioned to disable Audio Enhancement, unchecked that and still no luck. Tried with Skype, Google Voice, Cisco WebEx Communicator, IP Communicator and no luck in getting internal Microphone to work. Also tried sound recorder and all recordings are blank. There are lot of users who are facing this problem with Lenovo T420 Win 7 64Bit OS, not many users have time to come forward to discuss the same. Trying an alternative solution like plugging in an external mic or using usb headphones is not an option. Internal speakers work fine. If external mic is plugged in even that works fine.
to isolate this issue. I even tried downgrading and upgrading several audio driver releases. also tried clean OS reinstall and tried deploying our Win 7 Lenovo image on this laptop. still no luck. I suspect this could be an hardware problem. Please suggest.
Remember: I have already tried settings under Fn+F6 key several times using permutation and combination and spent atleast 8 Hours continuously to find a fix.
Any known solution, Hotfixes from Lenovo is highly appreciated.
