Minor issue with keyboard Backlight T530

Keyboard backlight works fine on all three settings, however if I close the computer screen and open it back up the backlight/thinklight remains off. As in, the keyboard backlight/thinklight mode isn't saved and restored when closing and opening the computer lid

Re: Minor issue with keyboard Backlight T530

Hi there ocm,

This is normal behavior for the keyboard backlight/thinklight. I do not believe there is a way to change it from happening, it behaves this way on a few Thinkpads that I tried this morning.

Can you toggle it back on?

Yeah, I'm just saying it's annoying that the settings aren't saved when (in my opinion) they should be

If it came back one when you did not want it you have that as an issue. Not much different from the Thinklight I have. Not a big deal after shutting down the system.

Re: Minor issue with keyboard Backlight T530

No, this is akin to saying that screen brightness should be reset to a set value when you close and open the lid, instead of having it go back to whatever setting you had it before. What I'm saying is the system (at BIOS level, for all I care) should restore the state of the backlight/thinklight when closing the lid. Shutting the system down has nothing to do with it
