Misc T500 Questions

1) Is it possible to get a NON-wide screen on a T500 ?

2) Are all/any of the screen options for a T500 in "matte" finish ?

    Was just looking at other mfgrs new models, and the screens

    all appear to be glass like, mirror reflect everything

    Am looking for non-glare screen

3) Can I request the "old" keyboard at order time ?

Any, and all input appreciated.

The clear answer to Q1 is, unfortunately "no" 4:3 screens are gone you will find several threads on this subject.

As far as Q2 is concerned, I personally have never seen nor heard of a T500 with a glossy screen. Check the tabook to be on the safe side, it has exact information on components used for each model.

And for Q3, I don't believe this is possible, other members will surely contribute.

As for the screen, you can still buy a T61 with 4:3 standard LCD panel. Although I would not advice yout to do that. Recently I bought a brand new T61 with 14.1" SXGA+ Samsung LCD and it is pain in the rear. The problem is that those LCD panels have very poor vertical viewing angle. However, it may happen that this problem is not a show-stopper for you. Anyway, If you can bear a panel wiht poor viewing angles and not hungry for latest & greatest (but not always the best) stuff in T400 then you still may find your happines in still very respectable T61.
