I have a T400 which died suddenly, I tried to switch it on there is no light, I switched the other power outlets but there is no power passing into the device. I am not sure if the adaptor is faulty, or the power card is faulty. I removed the battery and tried it it doesn't switch on.... Please help...any suggestions?

Did it suddenly die or did it shut off after the battery went dead?
When you plug in the power cord the light for the AC adaptor doesn't turn on?

I had accumilated some dust since i bought it, so I bought a dust cleaner(compressed air)from fry's and blew the dust from my keyboard and near the fan. I switched it on the next day and it wouldn't turn on, no lights at all, no beeping. Even I changed the power outlets and even the power light doesn't come on!
I couldn't think of any thing that could have caused this problem, I haven't this kinda behaviour before!!!

I have the same issue with my T500. I think it is Lenovo hardware issue. My laptop was hibernated before I went to sleep and the next morning it won't boot (no lights, no power). Lenovo should acknowlege and recall their defective hardware. I am very disappointed that I spent $1k and had to spent many hours trying to recover from this and research the cause online. No more lenovo for me

Hey there!
I realize this post is a bit dated but I was really hoping you could help me out.
I have a lenovo t500 running Win 7 ultimate.
I am a techy by trade, networking consultant.
This evening I had just finished re-imaging, configuring with all apps, settings etc; the nicest build I have made to date! I was about to create a system image when it suddenly shut right off, no lights, no power, nothing.
I then found your post:
("Pull the HDD, UltraBay, and RAM and see if it boots with the 1-3-3-1 beep code.")
I tried removing battery, RAM and HDD, plugged back in and it then was able to power up some lights and went through the beeping cycle, exactly as your post had suggested.
Could you please elaborate on what has happened, hardware issue? Battery?
Any and all help would be very much appreciated......really hope the motherboard isnt dead.....
I look forward to your reply.
Sincerely,
Matt
