why you press Fn+F5 do you see the option for bluetooth and wireless?

No, you might have identified a good lead.  When I press FN + F5, the wireless radio window opens, and the window only lists a 802.11 wireless radio (which is powered on).  Should I have a Bluetooth item listed in this window?

It should be listed there, which one reason why i asked you to check your parts list to see whether your laptop actually shipped with bluetooth. If it did ship with bluetooth, you might need to reinstall your drivers again.

Unfortunately for me, this laptop is my work PC, and our IT guys do not supply the parts list to us.  My laptop type is 6475-FB7 with a product ID of 6475FB7.

If the hardware is installed, then can I find it via searching the control panel, e.g. in the Network Setting directory?

I'm sorry, I meant to say "Network Connections" instead of "network settings" in the previous reply.
