I tried it on our T420s. (I was testing different versions of images)
manually update from 6.4.0.1500 to 6.4.0.1700.
it failed the first time. nothing really bad happens.
reboot, still ok.
try it again
it failed again and deleted most of the files of C:\
definitely the serious installer bug still exists from 6.2.1.1400

Same here. 4171-53U, Win7Pro 64 Bit factory installation. I updated from [System Update], 1st time failed. 2nd time after reboot I tried to install again, it wiped my disk, I could NOT reconstruct everything, awesome Lenovo. Avast was running in the background.
I did a clean new install on UEFI with GPT, Win7Pro64 (warning: if you try this, do not install the display driver before installing SP1 - will give you a BSOD). I don't remember which order, but I think it was Windows Update - System Update - Windows Update - System Update (each followed by a reboot), somewhere inbetween Bluetooth 6.4.0.1700 was installed.
*since then, everything running fine, no wipe - do I have to worrry? Running AVAST free.
I did switch from Macbook Pro to this device and love the hardware, but I think Lenovo should integrate all their updates into SP1 and give their customers a cumulative update after purchase. One file. Like on Mac OS. This is horrible, especially the wipe and loss of data.

Exactly how it happened to me the first time.

It's pure luck, because after I've recovered my OS to factory state, the Bluetooth driver update was successfull.

No. Should I go back to the old driver, or the risk doesn't worth it?

Hi Roy!
If your Bluetooth is working for you, the advice is stay right where you are.
