P9700 processor on T400

Currently my laptop has P8400 and thinking of upgrading to P9700.

Does anyone have tried laptop monkey's processors available on ebay and known to be working?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/INTEL-P9700-2-8GHz-Core-2-duo-OEM-mobile-CPU-processor-45-chipset-laptop-mon...

I see they have listed aw80576P9700 with SLGQS and QLMA  version.  Does anyone know what's the difference and if these are compatible with T400?

Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, QLMA and SLGQS are the same. P9700 will use slightly less power and T9600 will give slightly better performance. Having said that, I believe upgrading the CPU is the least cost-effective way to upgrade a laptop. Faster disk and more memory gives you a greater return on investment.

I got the SLGQS version and it's working fine. Thanks.

One thing I noticed that the Device manager still shows the old ( P8400)  processor model. But the  Computer -> Properties show the correct processor model ( P9700 ).

Any idea?
