Power Manager Error after System Update

Just got a new T500, just got all my apps installed and everything was working great. The last thing I did last night was run a "System Update".  Now I have two problems:

1) When I log in I get a "Power Manager has stopped working" error.

2) Switchable graphics won't switch.

Anyone seen this, and any ideas how to resolve it?

Re: Power Manager Error after System Update

switchable graphics option is found in power manager. If the program has stopped working I would advise uninstalling Powermanager and Reinstalling it from here. Make to follow the installation instructions on the download page

Re: Power Manager Error after System Update

I too have the same issue with switchable graphics.  All was working fine until upgrade to Power Manager 2.42.  I do not encounter the PM has stopped working problem.  I unistalled / reinstalled it mannually and it still does not work.  May try old version of PM.

Re: Power Manager Error after System Update

FYI, I tried an uninstall of the Power Manager and Power Manager Driver that System Update had given me, and I then manually instaled the versions from the driver download site (Power Manager V2.42 from 2/12/09).  I was surprised that this version was HIGHER than one that System Update gave me, which I am pretty sure was V2.38?).

Anyway, with V2.42 I no longer got the error on login, but I found that "Switchable Graphics" just would not switch! (no apps running, no external monitors connected etc.)

Luckily for me I had done a full system backup immediately before using System Update. I actually wound up restoring the entire system to get everything back the way it was in before I used System Update.

So I'm now back on Power Manager V2.35 which is what shipped on the system I received last week ( I wonder why they're shipping this old version???) and now everything seems to be working fine.

I have disabled System Update and don't intend to use it again!

Re: Power Manager Error after System Update

Version 2.42 is working for me now - at least in the undocked mode.  I the only change I made was to undock the computer????

Re: Power Manager Error after System Update

My power manager was inop too (Power Manager has stopped working error on boot up), I just installed version 2.42 and all is well again, the previous version from an update on 10-Feb-2009 was 2.41a and was what caused the error for me.
