Q partition of hard drive

If the hard drive stops working completely, is there a way to salvage the Q parition (factory settings backup)? Or do I need to back this up to discs? Thanks

Re: Q partition of hard drive

Joe19,

It depends on what happens to your hard drive. If like you say, it stops working completely, as in stops spinning, etc, then no, the Q partition would be useless at that point.  I would definitely make a recovery disc or recovery USB to have a "failsafe". In cases where the hard drive still spins and you have a problem with a virus or your OS then yes, it's possible to restore from the Q drive.

Hope that helps,

Ed
