I just purchased a T530 with the following specs;
Processor Intel Core i5-3210M Processor (3M Cache, up to 3.10 GHz)
Operating system Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)
Operating system language Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - English
Display type 15.6" HD+ (1600 x 900) LED Backlit AntiGlare Display, Mobile Broadband Ready
System graphics NVIDIA NVS 5400M Graphics with Optimus Technology, 1GB DDR3 Memory
Total memory 4 GB PC3-12800 DDR3 (1 DIMM)
The Kinston 4 GB PC3 12800 RAM card, I installed in the bottom slot is not being recognized.
Has anyone had experience with this issue?

The memory is not compatible with the machine.
You could try it in the 1st slot alone and see what happens but unless you don't know how to insert SODIMMS then it not compatible. Usually a hang or memory error and BSOD are the symptoms of bad/incompatible memory. Nothing at all is a bit rare.

Hey Cab,
What tripplec said could be true and if so I can recommend the Lenovo 4GB PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 SODIMM memory, part number # 0A65723. 16GB Max/ PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3, non-parity,
dual-channel capable, two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets is what the psref says for your computer. If you don't get an error try the suggestions tripplec said if you could post back and let us know.
Best Regards,
Hiro
