Hey Guys,
I have been enjoying my T530 for more than a month now. It's been great so far.
The only thing that concerns me currently is when I open up my screen the hinges make a sound if that makes sense. Its only a month old and I haven't used it that much at all. I am worried these hinges will brake in the near future. It doesn't happen all the time, but now and then when I open up the screen it makes a sound. Has anybody else had this problem?
Should I send the laptop back? I only have the basic insurance hmm..
Thanks! I just want to be pro-active.

When I open up my screen its just not really smooth. It makes a little sound (not worth recording in my opinion).
Should I be worried?

I would if getting them replaced later becomes and issue. I have heard of "its not convered by warranty" on some posts and recall seeing something one before buy about hinges and power supplies etc not covered.
Get a case number at least for and in case of later.

Hey Jonathan90,
Hello, after reading on the forms I would have to agree with everyone else that it would be better to get your hinges replace while your still under warranty, if you believe it to be or could be a serious issue. The service department will see if they will need to be replaced.
Best Regards,
Hiro

Give them time to break in, they tend to be a little stiff when new.

Yeah yeah, and then they break and someone will tell it it was abuse. Then what? No covered by warranty because of abuse! I can't think of how one would do it but I saw a model they disclaimed covering hinges for some reason. So it can happen.
