T-series shipping thread - 2011 edition [ Edited ]

Similar to mine, Jschartzbeck, but I went with the 6-cell battery.

I have 8GB of RAM, a Scorpio Black 500GB, and an Intel 310 "Soda Creek" 80GB mSATA SSD waiting to be installed in when it gets here.

Mine just arrived in Anchorage.  It's supposed to make it to my office on Monday, the 25th, so I'll just have to wait impatiently all weekend for it to get here.

I have a pretty unpleasant experience with my T520 order.

The order was placed on 3/29 and the initial est. shipping date

was 4/8. It later got deferred to 4/15 and then to 4/21 yesterday.

I checked again today and it said the expected shipping date is

now 5/11 ! What the heck ! It takes Lenovo more than a month

to get all the parts together ?! That doesn't make a lot of sense !

The customer service is also terrible. The agents always mumble

something about "part constraint" without being able to tell me

which part is actually in shortage. Without knowing the part which

is preventing the order from being shipped  it's very hard to modify

the order to work around the problem. Also, the agent told me that

I can only cancel the order and place a new one which puts it back

at the end of the queue. That's not very helpful for a disgruntled

customer.

Seriously considering cancelling my order now. Did anybody else have

similar experience with the new T520 ?

15.6HD+ (1600 X 900) screen,

250GB harddisk

Express Card Slot & 4 in 1 Card Reader & Smart Card Reader

Anyone receive their T420s yet?  I was just told that mine was delayed from its original shipping date of 4/20/2011 to 5/02/2011 due to supply shortages...sigh...

Hey,

I got mine yesterday!

It is in a very good condition.  But I have question that I dont know who to ask.

I got mine with i5-2540 2.60 GHz but on windows rate I get 3.4 on Processor Calculations per second!

Does anyone know if this logical?

Is it in high performance mode and plugged in?

Is there NOTHING else running in the backround?

Exactly, nothing on background!

I get :

Processor:             3.4

Memory:                  5.6

Graphics:                4.2

Gaming graphics: 5.6

Hard disk:               5.9

This does not sound right!

Why? is there anyone got his T420s?

Hey again,

I found the problem.  It is because I had it on ac power with the battery out.

I run windows experience index rate again and I got now with battery on and ac power on:

Processor:               7.1

Memory:                    7.5

Graphics:                  5.8

Gaming Graphics:   6.3

Primary hard disk:   5.9

That is a lot of differce.  keep that in mind.

Just called Lenovo to cancel the order. Goodbye Lenovo. I won't buy from you again.

Ordered a T520 on 20th Apr (with the upgraded 1600x900 screen) - within six days it was boxed and handed over to UPS, and should be coming either tomorrow or a few days after (bank holidays!).

No problems at all so far with lenovo.
