T-series shipping thread - 2011 edition

First i Ordered T410s with 128GB SSD, i560M 2.6Ghz, 4GB RAM, Nvidia NVS 3100M, Intigrated Cam,Finger,BT for $800.
then i cancelled,
Ordered a Refurbished T420s from lenovo with i5 2520M 2.5Ghz, 6GB RAM, 320GB 7200 HDD, Finger, HD Cam, No Bluetooth(Of course not required for me). The price is about $764.
So which one is Better..??

But when i am ordering it was Professional x64
Now how to get Professional from Lenovo..??

I order a Thinkpad T420 on Nov. 30 from Lenovo Canada. I check the order status, but it has been "IN PROGRESS" for a while. How long it takes to ship to my hand? Thanks.

Hey I'm just wondering, did you get your laptop?  I also live in Canada with a laptop on its way, just wondering how long it took to ship/get into your hands? (hopefully it did already! )

Lenovo has the worst customer service and shipping service that I have ever expereinced.  I placed my order 12/19 and specifically chose system that was supposedly ready to be express shipped.  I had no add ons or differenent configurations.  It was supposed to ship 12/24.  Since then, they have moved my ship date four times without notice or reason.  I've called three times only to get repeated promises that it will be shipped out "this week".  Well, when that week comes, they move the ship date yet again.  This is ridiculous. If it gets moved one more time, I will be cancelling the order.  It isn't worth this much stress and hassle. 

I work with huge oil and gas corporations on a daily basis as a consultant.  I will be spreading the word about Lenovo customer service.  How can I let my clients get jerked around like this?  I would never recommend a company like Lenovo. I will also be spreading the word on Facebook, Twitter, and Linked In.  What an awful company.

Update - Wow.  They have moved my shipment back for the 5th time after promising for the 4th time that it'll be shipped out next week.  I even have an email stating that it'll be shipped next week.  Of course, when I call to cancel my order, the call center is "unexpectedly unavailable".  Figures.

Just to keep things current...

I ordered my t420 w/ 160gb SSD (obviously the disk drives are back ordered 4+ weeks) on December 29, 2011.

I received my shipping confirmation on January 9, 2012.

UPS delivered on January 13, 2012. In all, it took just over two weeks to arrive. It would have arrived 1 day sooner had it not been for the recent snow storm in Montreal.

This is my second laptop from Lenovo (I've had a t61 for the last few years). Last year I got my brother a t410 and it came pretty fast. I ordered my sister a t420 today...We'll see if it comes any faster. Overall I am happy with my t420 w/ SSD. The machine makes virtually no noise - except when I turn on turboboost. The build quality is not as solid as the t61. The trackpad takes some getting used to. But all in all I am happy. The next step is putting an HDD in the ultrabay.

Here's a story from 2012... China to UK...

I have ordered my first Thinkpad - a T520 from the Lenovo UK site. I was a little apprehensive as I have read some awful stories about Digital River, the UK sales service.

I ordered early on the 9th Jan, and despite the 1-2 week delivery estimate on the website was told by the friendly folks at digital river that it could be 3-4 weeks. I was pretty pleased when it seemed it was on the way on 12th Jan. I was even more pleased when it seemed to have arrived in the UK, the next day, but then up popped Korea and Kazakhstan, and now it seems to be sitting in Germany...

It would be great if this would arrive in the UK before this Friday (20th Jan) - what do you think my chances are? given other UPS stories China-UK it may well go back to Korea again before it reaches me...
