Hi,
I'm having an interesting problem after installing Win7. Sometimes when starting up my T400 from hibernation the screen doesn't turn on. It stays black until I force it to restart by turning it off and then on. I haven't changed any settings.
Hope you can help me, guys!

Hi winkel,
Are power related drivers from lenovo installed and the BIOS most recent?
Keep us posted.

I have had this same screen issue on my T400 2764 CTO w/Windows 7 64-bit. Sometimes when I resume from sleep mode the screen will not turn on. I have to do a hard reboot (hold down the power button) and restart. It has happen both when plugged in and when unplugged. All of my drivers are up to date.

Try sending it back into hibernate/sleep the next time it does that. Alternatively, assuming you haven't set your ACPI lid close action to anything, try closing and reopening the lid. This used to happen to me very occasionally a long time ago, but no longer occurs.

The screen turns on after sending it into hibernation/sleep. Closing and opening the lid does nothing. So, I guess I'm stil in need of a solution.
Any help is much appreciated!

Try manually checking the Power Management driver version; in my own experience, System Update has been known to misreport and thus not update certain drivers if an attempted update fails in certain ways. Maybe just try installing Power Management Driver 1.60 over whatever existing copy there is (be it 1.60 or not).

Does someone else have a possible solution to this problem?
