T400 DVD Stopped Working - Not Recognized in Win7

I removed my DVD yesterday and now the computer won't recognize it. When I boot up the light blinks but after windows starts it does not work and windowes doesn't recognise it. How can I fix it and what do I avoid to make sure it doesn't happen again?

 

 

Solution Found: The Bios setting under F1 somehow changed to not recognize it. F1 at startup, changed it back, now it works great.
