T400 Model-Going back to sleep after logging in?

Hi, I am a new member,

 

Anyway, whenever I wake my computer to sleep, and login, it goes back to sleep again! Then, I have to wake my computer from sleep again, then it works-I can log in, get on with my regular stuff. This is just annoying, and I was wondering how to fix this bug? 

I have also been getting a "HL-DVD-Ram can now be safely removed" message, even though i didn't click on anything, or try and remove my DVD Ram. Does this have a connection perhaps?

Anyway, what I'm mainly concerned about is that my computer, upon waking from sleep, will go back to sleep after a couple seconds. Then, i have to wake it up, then everything works perfectly. Any help?
