T400 and UEFI

Hi everybody,

I just recently saw a video(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLwaKb6pLrc&feature=player_embedded), and it's keeping me hopeful that someday my T400 will someday load the 10 second boot time.

I was wondering if you guys think it will come to the T400 or would Lenovo only ship out UEFI on their new products only?

Re: T400 and UEFI

If it is possible, why not to release it? It would save many seconds of my life in each reboot

Re: T400 and UEFI

the UEFI is not available on the T400, it was never intended to be released with the T400 machines.

Re: T400 and UEFI

But that's not very good by Lenovo! If they have a working release... why not to give it to the customers?

PS: Does somebody know where to have an unnoficial uefi t400 modified bios?

Re: T400 and UEFI

that was a proof of concept machine, it could have different hardware to the regular off the mill Thinkpad T400 in the market.

But anyhow, Lenovo won't back date the bios to support UEFI for the T400, as these are superseded machines.

Re: T400 and UEFI

I am 99% sure it does not have a different hardware, just a different bios rom. But anyway, of course Lenovo prefers do marketing and try to sell this feature in the next model. Me and many users like me will not change the laptop just to save 3 seconds of boot time...

Maybe somebody has somewhere this rom ... but maybe this is not the forum to post it :smileyhappy:

PS: Some video stating that actually there is not much difference in the official thinkpad supporting uefi
