T400 integrated camera: driver super slow to load on boot

I'm running Win 7 w/ SP1 on a T400 with an integrated camera. Device Manager reports that the camera is using the latest Sonix driver 5.8.530003. Strangely, Task Manager also reports that the RCIMGDIR.exe is also running; however, since the T400 uses the Sonix camera and not the Ricoh, it's unclear why the Ricoh utility is running. 

Here's my problem: When I boot, the integrated camera is not discovered by Device Manager until ~60 seconds after everything else is running. Abruptly, I'll hear a "clunk" (the same sound as plugging in a USB drive); then the camera's recognized and ready to go. 

Any suggestions why the camera takes so long to be discovered on boot? Also, regarding two camera drivers, Should I uninstall the Ricoh driver?

The Ricoh driver might be for the SD card reader.

I'd try reinstalling the webcam driver and seeing if that works.

That or Rapidboot is delaying the webcam driver... which I don't think it should or does.

Thanks, Colonel. I tried:
1) uninstalling both the Sonix and Ricoh drivers;
2) rebooting and using the Microsoft default drivers.

It still took ~60 seconds to find the integrated camera with the MS drivers.

So, I re-installed the Sonix driver, rebooted, and no change: it takes 60 seconds or so to load the camera driver.

Weird!
