T400 laptop is restarting while in use

Hi,

I bought T400 laptop last week.

It did restarted while i am using the system. it happened twice with in this week.

When i am using the laptop, it suddenly went into blank and restarted.

 Please let me know if i need to update any drivers or need to do something for this issue.

Has the random restart happen only once or several times? Are you using system update on your machine?

Hi,

I did restarted once in a day. it happened 3 times.

Everyday there will be microsoft updates installed in my system.

Daily when i tried to shut down the system in the night, it updates the microsoft updates.

Have you tried updating the BIOS to the latest version? Does the pc overheat or any sort of peculiar symptoms?

Hi,

I did not updates BIOS to my system. For now my system is not over heating or any other issues.it is working fine only issue is restarting. i am from MO (USA).

do i need to disable the option "updates from microsoft"?

if that issue still is present either try with different memory-a different stick of ram from a similar machine - lenovo laptop - either update the bios. try these as options. let me know whether that helped you.

I am also have this problem, with a 2765-t6u, and XP

updated bios and am pullin updates ( with the exception of SP3)

when the user first reported the problem, i thought she was either insane or unlucky.. 

anyhow, will post if it works, tomorrow..as i will be using it myself for the day (apparently, for her it shut down at least 5 times during the day)

Does the reboot happen while on a corporate lan? 

Does the company use WSUS to push MS updates?
