T400 screen is dark

I believe after much research that my inverter has gone bad, orangish screen that goes dark 90% of the time.  Works fine hooked up to a monitor.

My question is that looking on ebay there appears to be two different styles of inverter.  One that is a ribbon and the other is a wider, narrower piece.  How would I confirm which piece I need?  Also, how would I get a copy of the manual to install it?

If anyone thinks that I have misdiagnosed, please let me know.  I figure I will try this before a new screen.

To know what you need, you need to know if you have an LCD or LED model. If you give us the machine type (do not post the serial number) we should be able to look it up for you. The machine type is in ThinkVantage Toolbox, and is listed as "Product: ####XXX" (It generally has both numbers and letters in it.)

Thabks for the reply. I replaced the inverter and no improvement. So, i have the lcd screen? Is the next step the fuse on the motherboard? Or would a new screen be in order? Thanks for the reply.
Product id is 276731u. It works fine with an external monitor.

The orange color means it is the bulb, not a fuse. You need a panel
