T410 Battery

I wanted to get a 6-cell battery for my new T410 (came with a 9-cell) and based on information garnered from the Web that one for the SL410 would work, I picked it up from Batteries Plus.  It wouldn't fit.  Is this information worng? According to the latest TABOOK, there are batteries now listed under assessories that have different numbers from the SL series.

Any new info on this?

Are you sure you got a battery designed for the SL410? Not the SL400?  No battery from any Thinkpad laptop with a 3-digit number that ends in 00 (not sure about the T400s) will fit in any thinkpad with a 3-digit number that ends in 10.

I've yet to see any generic batteries for the SL410, ANYWHERE. Even copied from overseas, quality aside.

I believe your right, I did ask for the SL410 battery, but looking at it, I find that its for the SL400.  My mistake for not double checking it.  Thanks for the insight.

Yeah those guys could easily be wrong.  They aren't the brightest bunch, you know.

If you ask for a battery for a "SL410", they could easily give you the wrong one.

You're better off referencing the battery's part #, or better yet, just bring in one that works.
