After I applied the BIOS Update 1.41 using the toolbox online upd. utitlity my Laptop is gone louder.
Ex: While the fan used to be stopped or ran the lowest level which I don't perceive regularly, now it is running at an higher level I always perceive. Even when the laptop is idle there are only short stages of up to 30 seconds at the unperceived level.
I assured the post-update settings (bios and energy-manager) are the same as before. But even changing them to a minimum performance and cooling capacity doesn't change the effect.
Can you confirm this 'experience'?
I couldn't find technical information explaining this in change history. I hadn't have this with the three earlier BIOS versions from delivery and the two updates (since 13.08.2010).
Could this be an intended change of Lenovo related to the release of i5-560 models?
I think the older BIOS version (1.33) should be supplied instead of removing it from the support page - I couldn't find it there. Maybe an official link could be supplied from Lenovo.
My model: 2912w69, i5-540
