Alright, Does the card reader pick up a different type or brand of SD card?
Also, Lets see what happens if you reformat the current card to a different file system ExFAT or NTFS. This may work.
Hope this helps,
Alex

unable to read: Patriot LX Series 16 GB Class 10 SDHC Flash Memory Card PSF16GSDHC10
able to read: CoreMicro 16GB Class 4 microSDHC Memory Card (With SD Adapter)
I know the patriot card is fine as my camera and 4 years old laptop is able to read/write to it without any problem
I think this is getting drawn out. Way need the bigging the above quote was posted. Where a SDHC card was able to be read. This are no different them DDR memory in that some work with systems and others DO NOT. When pushing the the limits of density some may conform to controller spec while other don't. On the surface appearing the same is not the same when looking at the engineering level of what was done. Testing the cards is where it likely needs to start.

Do not even try to connect your external Hard Driver to Lenovo`s Laptop. It will die with all data. Lenovo uses the cheap companents and it is just danger the use. The best options is to buy the quality Laptop from another brand. Do not waste your time and money buying Lenovo!

I got my new T430s recently and then also found this card reader problem.
Fortunately, I got the solution from another thread:
So basically, you need to install this driver:

Read me:

Although it says it only supports T420s, it works fine as I have tested it with my T430s.
