My T500 freezes randomly, but i could repeat this status by using e.g. a anti-vir application or by a defragment software.
I checked the ram and the hdd, no errors.
I have installed all newest drivers vor vista 32.
At the windows event manager are some error logs:
- <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/ev
ent"> - <System> <Provider Name="Microsoft-Windows-WMI" Guid="{1edeee53-0afe-4609-b846-d8c0b2075b1f}" EventSourceName="WinMgmt" /> <EventID Qualifiers="49152">10</EventID> <Version>0</Version> <Level>2</Level> <Task>0</Task> <Opcode>0</Opcode> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2009-02-21T17:26:08.000Z" /> <EventRecordID>4712</EventRecordID> <Correlation /> <Execution ProcessID="0" ThreadID="0" /> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>waenger</Computer> <Security /> </System> - <EventData> <Data>//./root/CIMV2</Data> <Data>SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99</Data> <Data>0x80041003</Data> </EventData> </Event>

this sounds very similar to the problem I'm having with my T500 20825XU XPPro . it regularly freezes/locks up with heavy processor usage. then I have to hold dn the power button until it shuts down.
Have you received any reply or help from Lenovo on this yet?

I was experiencing a similar problem, I think this article provides a good explanation and two possible solutions:

Just a guess: You use Active Protection for your hard disk? If so, try to disable it.
Greetz!

This function is disable.
The iaStor driver is not the problem.
But thank you for your solutions.
