T500 with T9600 2.8 Ghz has windows experience index of 4.6

What's the problem ? I have Windows 7 64-bit and my friend has the same computeur with T9400 and his exeperience index of  6.1 on windows 7 32-bit !!!

The windows experience takes the lower value. You should check the CPU index instead of the hard disk one...

It is low. I have a T9550 (2.66Ghz) and I got: CPU: 6.3 RAM: 5.9 Graphics: 6.3/6.3 Disk: 5.8

Wich OS do you use ? Window 7 32-bit or 64-bit ?

One thing that comes into my mind: when you tested for the WEI did you have a power profile active that would have limited the CPU speed in Windows? That could account for why it beleives the CPU is not as good as it should be. Did you try to activate another power profile (if you use Lenovo Power Manager, try Power Source Optimized or Maximum Performace) and rerun the WEI index tests?
