T510 - Intel HD graphics : 2 external monitor - how?

Hi,

I have a t510 and i really need 2 external monitors.

I can connect one on the vga-port or the displayport, but both do not work?

How can I solve this? Is it true that a dock can be the solution? Which dock?

Thank you!

you can only support such configuration when the internal LCD is closed off.

USB2DVI is another solution to support a third monitor.

Re: T510 - Intel HD graphics : 2 external monitor - how?

babbelut,

Based on information in the PSREF and our support site, I believe that...

The T510 Models with integrated Intel HD video support a max of 2 displays.  This can be 1 internal (the LCD) + 1 external attached to either the VGA or the DisplayPort, or 2 external displays via the VGA and Displayport with the internal LCD off (this config may require  Minidock series 3)   It may also be possible to run 3 displays - the internal LCD + 2 external displays by using the Lenovo USB 2.0 Port Replicator with digital video.

PSREF spects for T510 with Intel HD or Nvidia Optimus ...

"Intel HD Graphics in processor,

external analog monitor support via VGA DB-15 connector and
digital monitor support via DisplayPort (supports single-link DVI-D via cable 45J7915);
supports dual independent display;
Maximum external resolution: 2560x1600 (DisplayPort)@60Hz;
2048x1536 (VGA)@75Hz; 1920x1200@60Hz (single-link DVI-D via cable 45J7915"

The T510 Models with a second GPU (Nvidia Optimus) supports 3 independent displays (LCD + VGA + DP)

"NVIDIA® Optimus™ technology, auto-switch between discrete and integrated graphics,
Intel HD Graphics in processor, and
NVIDIA NVS™ 3100M, PCI Express®
x16, 512MB memory,
external analog monitor support via VGA DB-15 connector and
digital monitor support via DisplayPort (supports single-link DVI-D via cable 45J7915);
supports three independent displays;
Maximum external resolution: 2560x1600 (DisplayPort)@60Hz;
2048x1536 (VGA)@75Hz; 1920x1200@60Hz (single-link DVI-D via cable 45J7915)"

It is possible that others in the community may have a proven (they have it set up and working) solution with the T510 with integrated HD graphics allowing for multiple external displays other than the options I've noted.

If so, I'm sure babbelut will appreciate your input...

Thanks

Mark
