T510 Wireless / USB Issues

I have a T510 Thinkpad and am baffled by some issues I'm having. Here's the rundown:

In my office, I connect to a Qwest Q100 modem/wireless router to get to the internet. If I am not connected to this router, my laptop functions well. When I am connected, my USB devices cease to hot swap and my computer won't shut down by itself - I have to hold the power button. It's not enough to flip the wireless switch off; if I have connected to this router at ANY time while my computer is on, I experience these problems. Does anyone have any insight into this issue?
