Product: 4313CTO
Bios: 6MET56WW (1.19) (upgraded from 1.18)
T510, i7 2.66MHz, 4MB DDR3, Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit)
Symptoms
An audible "click" before and after any windows sounds, samples or MP3 play.
Playing sound (MP3, Audio CD, iPlayer), sound shortly (within seconds)
mutes, especially at volumes above 25 on the OSD.
Adjusting sound volume up or down (or mute then unmute) will restore
sound, but only briefly.
This occurs over inbuilt speakers only. If headphones are connected, no
muting occurs, no audible clicks before or after windows sounds or other
samples.
Sound over external USB audio devices work flawlessly.
I've taken advice on "Trouble shooting audio - Thinkpad", including re-installing drivers and upgrading BIOS to no avail.
Can anyone help me here? It's very tricky to establish whether this is a hardware fault or a low level software one. Not looking forward to long delays of a return to base warantee, but maybe there is a quick solution I've overlooked.
There seems to be a few ppl experiencing audio problems with T400/500 series, but haven't found answer yet.

I wouldn't think this is a hardware issue since I have seen it come and go with various releases of drivers on my T500. If you try different versions of the drivers with the same results though I would call it in and open a ticket, since that atleast will cover you.

I just purchased this same product:
Product: 4313CTO
T510, i7 2.66MHz, 4MB DDR3, but with Windows 7 Pro
I have the identical problem. When the speakers are on, they click before and after every sound. And I guess sometimes the sound is very short because I hear clicking alot from the speakers.
When I try to listen to my favorite downloaded windows media files, the sound stops after a few minutes. Then if you press the speaker volume up or down the sound returns only to shut off after only a minute or less, just like _vortex reported.
It seems to me, also, it would be a software issue, but not sure. It almost seems like with all the clicking there is competition for the speakers and whoever is clicking takes over the speakers. Seems like this would be a driver problem.
Would like to know if there is a fix.

hi, I just bought a 64bit t510i i3 win 7 and are in your same situation.
now after doing the updates via tinkvantage, my sound has disappeared completely.
please let me know if you solved your problems.
I hope I am not wrong with Lenovo, but it is certainly not a good start! with IBM for 10 years I never had any problems, but I think now is very different.
(sorry but is the result of the English translation)
