T510 what is the factory default Power Plan

I  have a Lenovo T510.

In ThinkVantage there are various Power Plans...eg Energy Saver, Timers Off, Power Source Optimized, Maximum Performance, Maximum Battery Life,

Can someone advise me which Power Plan Lenovo sets it to when it is brand new from the factory.

Thank you

ThinkPad Default is the one you're looking for.

The ones Power Manager adds (in addition to ThinkPad Default) are Maximum Battery Life, Maximum Performance, Power Source Optimized, Timers off (Presentation), and Video Playback.

The Balanced, High Performance, and Power Saver profiles come standard with Windows 7, I believe.
It kind of makes 3 power profiles from the Power Manager software a bit redundant (ThinkPad default = Balanced, Maximum Performance = High Performance, Maximum Battery Life = Power Saver) since I don't think they are much different than the Windows ones.

Do you know I can regain the "energy saver profile? Lenovo reimaged my drive and I no longer have that power profile.

Thanks,

Re: T510 what is the factory default Power Plan

I really need someone with a new T510 in front of them please.

The T510 does not have a default power plan and if you re-read my original email, I stated which ones it had and I am asking which is thr one that it left the factory set on.

Hi Alex 1945:

Okay, I'm typing this on my T510 (bought in December 2010).  Lenovo repair center re-imaged my drive and I lost the Energy Saver Profile, which you have.  Here are all the power plan profiles that are available on my T510

1.  Thinkpad Default

2.  Power Source Optimized

3.  Timers Off (Presentation)

4.  Maximum Battery Life

5.  Maximum Performance

6.  Video Playback

At least when I got my T510 brand new (pre re-imaging), Energy Saver was selected.  Wish I could get that profile back.  It set all the options at two green dots.  I really got a very long battery life using that profile.  Currently using Power Source Optimized, which does well but doesn't get me the battery life of the Energy Saver (although the difference is small).

Re: T510 what is the factory default Power Plan

Just use Maximum Battery Life.

It's not like Lenovo's programs have any functions that Windows can't handle on its own anyways (with a couple of exceptions such as Mic Mute and the On-Screen Display, as well as Enhanced Backup and Restore)- its programs just make that process somewhat easier.

Humorously enough, my Maximum Battery Life profile has everything at "2 dots" and the power consumption at 5 dots, though that one can and has saved my note-taking hide in 80 minute lectures at 25% battery life going IN: I've been on the edge of power-down at the lower end of 1% left (I think it quit on me all of once).
So the dots are arbitrary.

Re: T510 what is the factory default Power Plan

Funny, mine is only 4 weeks old from factory. It doesn't have default!!

On another matter, have any of you noticed that there is a single point for both mic and headset.

I found this company

eVerbatim in Maryland USA who make a special splitter cable for T510 and similar.

I have already received it and it like a Y connector cable $29  US

Alex1945, actually I recommend using power source optimized. This way you'll have long battery life when unplugged and high performance when plugged in. You should look into what the settings entail instead of relying on what is the factory default, because there might be adjustments that you want to make.
