Hi, I have just gotten the new Lenovo T520 and am very pleased with it. But I have stumbled upon an irritating problem. I am having problems Ghosting the machine.
I have Symantec Ghost Solution Suite 2.5 and have been using Ghost Cast for a couple of years now. What the problem is, is that the PC fails to even load PC-DOS Ghost Image, so I turned to using WinPE. The problem here is that If I try to join a session It fails to find an Ip-adress. It only gets a 127.0.0.1 Ip adress which clearly states that it didn't get anything from my DHCP server.
I also tried editing the WinPE image and adding the drivers to the network card which I found on Lenovo's Driver site. But this to did result in the computer not being able to obtain Ip-adress. Just the 127.0.0.1.
Lenovo T520 Specs:
Lenovo T520
Intel 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection
TYPE 4240-4CG
Does anyone here have the same problem? Any suggestions to what I might do to fix my problem?
Thanks in advance for any replies ![]()

Ghost may have a problem with the new Sandy Bridge machines.
Note that the he T420, T520 and W520 have a UEFI BIOS (1, 2, 3), which may be a factor, although I believe you have the option of selecting either UEFI or a legacy BIOS mode.
Anyway, you now know everything I know about the issue. You may want to post your problem in the abovereferenced Symantec forum. Good luck!

Thank you very much for your reply.
I will post a thread on Symantec's forum and see if they have any clue ![]()

siege,
Have you found a solution to this issue? I am having the same problem with X220 and T520 machines. Symantec suggested to try a different driver which was of little help.

Did you ever resolve this problem?
My company bought several of these Lenovo T520's. Their nice but this is a big issue. I don't want to have to manually set up every one of them.

I am having the same problem - I have the write drivers but it will never boot into the Ghost software to image it.
I am unable to get it to connect with the mini-PE image either. Has anyone found a solution for Ghosting the T520?

I'm seeing the same thing with winpe.
I've tried adding *all three* NDIS network drivers to the winpe image (NDIS5x, NDIS61 and NDIS62) and none of them work.
This is definitely a problem.
